Directions for Applying Your Vinyl Decal
You’ll Need:
Vinyl decal
Masking tape (or painter’s tape)
Squeegee (or credit card wrapped in a soft cloth)
Rubbing alcohol + lint-free cloth
Scissors (optional)
Step 1: Clean the Surface
Wash the window or car panel with soap and water.
Wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove grease, wax, or residue.
Dry completely with a lint-free cloth.
Step 2: Position the Decal
With the decal still on its backing, hold it against the surface to find the placement.
Use masking tape along the top edge to make a “hinge,” so it can flip up and down while staying aligned.
Step 3: Remove the Backing
Flip the decal up on the tape hinge.
Slowly peel the backing paper away from the decal, leaving the decal stuck to the clear transfer tape.
Be careful not to touch the adhesive side of the decal.
Step 4: Apply the Decal
Starting from the taped edge, slowly lower the decal onto the surface.
Use the squeegee (or card) to press from the center outward, removing any air bubbles.
Work carefully until the entire decal is stuck.
Step 5: Remove the Transfer Tape
Slowly peel the transfer tape back at a sharp angle (not straight up).
If any part of the decal lifts, press it back down with the squeegee and peel again.
Step 6: Final Touch
Smooth over the decal with the squeegee once more.
Avoid washing the car for 24 hours to let the adhesive fully bond.
✨Tip: If applying in colder weather, gently warm the surface and decal with a hairdryer to help adhesion.
